The II Congress of the Rede Nacional em Estudos Culturais, organized by RNEC, the Research Centre for Arts and Communication (CIAC) and Escola Superior de Educação e Comunicação (ESEC) of the University of Algarve, will take place on April 27th and 28th, 2023, at the University of Algarve and it will bring together scholars, researchers and research centers, as well as Portuguese academic institutions dedicated to Cultural Studies/Culture.
The II Congress of the Rede Nacional em Estudos Culturais, organized by RNEC, the Research Centre for Arts and Communication (CIAC) and Escola Superior de Educação e Comunicação (ESEC) of the University of Algarve, will take place on April 27th and 28th, 2023, at the University of Algarve and it will bring together scholars, researchers and research centers, as well as Portuguese academic institutions dedicated to Cultural Studies/Culture.
It is a community that has been expanding and developing remarkably over the last few years in Portugal, currently with 28 research centers and 153 courses of all levels, spread across all higher education institutions in Portugal (51 undergraduate degrees, 54 master’s degrees, 37 doctoral degrees and 11 postgraduate courses, between 1998 and 2020). This II Congress aims to promote the recognition of this academic community and leverage more articulated and dense teaching and research networks.
The II Congress of the Rede Nacional de Estudos Culturais aims to enhance the discussion on the subject of Digital Citizenship and Contemporary Cultures, as well as to bring into dialogue and make known the work carried out in different research centers and universities, in order to promote the development of partnerships and reassert the vitality of this field of studies.
